A game running through Facebook® that is sure to inspire wayfaring while connecting friends with just one click, Around the World in 80 Clicks allows globe trotters to virtually navigate the world and opportunities to win a Samsonite Cosmolite™ Spinner 55. One lucky winner will win a €5.000 travel voucher to plan the holiday of their dreams anywhere in the world! The total value of prizes being awarded exceeds €50.000.

Inspired by the classic adventure novel, Around the World in Eighty Days, Samsonite’s Facebook game asks players to connect with their most distant friends by sending a virtual suitcase to create a ‘chain’ of people around the world, connecting and engaging travellers worldwide.

Samsonite’s Around the World in 80 Clicks builds on the excitement of the journey detailed in the celebrated novel and affords friends the opportunity to indulge their inner wanderlust as they send their virtual suitcases to destinations near, far and familiar. The Around the World in 80 Clicks game will go "live" on 1st March 2012 and is scheduled to run for 80 days. Available on Facebook (http://apps.facebook.com/eightyclicks/), www.aroundtheworldin80clicks.com and on Twitter (@80clicks, #80clicks), the game can be shared with friends around the world with ease.

About the Game:
Have you ever dreamt of traveling around the world? With Samsonite now you can do it with just 80 clicks... Nothing could be easier.

Objective: To build the longest possible chain of virtual suitcases with your friends via Facebook

Method:

  1. Simply connect to your Facebook account. Then select four of your friends from all over the world and send each of these friends a virtual Samsonite Cosmolite suitcase. If you also ‘like’ the Samsonite Facebook page from the mini-site, you will be given an additional four bonus suitcases to send to friends. Who will you choose to start your chains?

  2. Once your friends accept the case, the distance between you and your chosen friends will be automatically calculated and tracked as the action happens. Once you have sent your suitcase, you will have three weeks to create the longest chain amongst your friends. At the end of the three weeks, you will be eligible to send another 4 suitcases.

  3. As soon as your friends receive the suitcase, they can then send it to four of their friends from around the world…who in turn will send it to other friends… and then to many other friends…

  4. Track your suitcase all around the world… Watch your suitcase travel from your bedroom in the UK to the beaches of Sydney and the skyscrapers of Manhattan, all with one click. The possibilities are endless, where will your suitcases reach?

  5. Increasing the number of countries your suitcase visits will make your chain eligible to earn additional bonus miles/kilometers.

  6. The more miles or kilometers your suitcase travels, the more people it connects with, the more chances you’ll get to win!

Prizes:
Create the longest chain of friends, watch as your suitcase travels around the globe, and win amazing prizes. There are no restrictions or obligations to play, only to click.

The game is open to Facebook users around the world with the chance to win some hugely exciting prizes from Samsonite’s popular Cosmolite range. Not only are 150 Cosmolite Spinner 55 silver suitcases up for grabs, but the person with the highest number of miles or kilometers collected will win a travel voucher worth 5.000€. The total value of prizes being awarded exceeds 50.000€.

These outstanding prizes will be given to the three chains with the largest distance clocked up. All participants* of the three winning chains with the highest number of miles or kilometers collected by sending their suitcase will win a Samsonite Cosmolite Spinner 55 Silver.

The grand prize €5.000 travel voucher for a dream holiday will be awarded to the participant of one of the winnings chains with the highest number of miles or kilometers collected with his/her launch.
